I have to make a call, I have to risk it all.
A fresh perspective on the world, or ill regret it all
not sure when ill be home, but dont wait up alone
theres not much for me to return to, thought id make it known
that ive made up my mind, this wasnt by design, a snap decision now im packing bags and flying high
so please dont call or write, I need some space tonight
dont take it personal, its just the way I work sometimes
And when I left, I never said goodbye. But when I see those faces pass by, ill say hello.
I want to make this clear, its been a good year
Ive watched my friends and family grow and yet I cant adhere to tying myself down, I gotta move around, my parents generation would be anything but proud.
Dad took it really bad, he doesnt understand that there is more to life than having kids and mortgage plans.
I hope he comes around and we find common ground, but until then im in search of something more profound.
And when I left, I never said goodbye. But when I see those faces pass by, ill say hello.
